How We Helped an Ethnic Food Importer Ship Into Canada
Summary:
One of our clients was interested in importing food products from India to Canada.
Challenge:
Our client was concerned that the terminology used to describe the products on the import documentation would not be familiar to Canadian Customs officers, and would therefore cause complications in getting the goods into Canada.
Solution:
Fortunately, some of our very first clients were ethnic food importers, so we were very comfortable with this situation. We classified their goods according to the Canadian harmonized codes by transcribing what was on the documentation.
Results:
In doing so, our client was able to get their shipment cleared through customs without any issues.
